Welcome to the Dutchess County Restaurant Guide BETA. This is your premier listing service for all food services, cafe's, coffee houses, pizzerias, diners and Dutchess County Restaurants. This is a great place to dine, and features the famous Culinary Institute of America. While most listing services work on a simple principle of ad revenue, we use a unique formula. We hope to promote the quality industry we have, while still offering a useful product to the culinary customers of our community.
This guide is a combined effort between freelance journalists (restaurant reviewers) and marketing professionals. Using this technique balances the need for quality establishments to get their name out their to the right people, and the right people to find establishments of up to their expected standards. In a sense restaurateurs and customers can see our guide as a dating service hoping to match the perfect dining experience to the perfect customers.
How to use Dutchess County Restaurant Guide
As our beta testing of our program is comming to an end, by the end of July all restaurants should be sourted not only by town, but by their style. Think of this as their personal ad. Categories include, but are not limited to: fine dining, diners, coffee shops, pizza, family style, singles, children, etc. Some listings will appear in more than one category.
Where we place the listing, and the information given as a review is 100% objective and has nothing to do with the advertising service. A restaurant may not pay to be included in a section they don't belong in just to try to draw in more of that demographic. We will place them based on the honest impressions of our journalists, as well as nominations submitted by you-the customer. This means you can be an integral part of helping us make the perfect match between customers and the best dutchess county dining experience for them.
As you browse, you will notice that some of our listings are only text listings with the name address and phone number, but rest assured we are adding full menu reviews every day. We will send in several of our freelance journalists throughout the week, and have them try to come up with a list of the must try dishes. Once they complete this process, Look for the DRG wine glass next to a menu item to know that it is one of our featured items.
Also, for our Featured Listings look for our DRG featured badge on their page. These featured partners have been put through an even more rigorous set of standards in order to meet our Featured Listing Standard of Excellence. You can rest assured that dining at any of the establishments designated with this logo will be well worth your time.
What are our standards
We only allow quality listings to advertise with us, and we have a strict criteria that must be met. Specifically, all food services advertising with us must uphold an approval rating of 85% based on monthly polls conducted by an independent team of journalists. The restaurant must also be nominated by several independent sources before we will contact them for listing.
We believe that most will be appreciated by their own unique market, and what may be an enjoyable culinary experience for one, may be a catastrophe for another. What we advocate, is guiding our readers to the place that best suites their desires.
